Effective November 1, 2016, LifeSecure is discontinuing the sale of their individual Long Term Care insurance products.

After careful analysis of their long term care insurance (LTCi) business and continuous review of their product offerings and overall business strategy, LifeSecure has decided to discontinue sales of their LTCi product in the individual markets, effective Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

LifeSecure will continue to offer their Multi-life LTCi product in the worksite markets. LifeSecure is confident that this decision will allow them to focus greater attention, energy and resources on offering innovative, flexible and simple LTCi solutions at the worksite, and thus build upon the success they have in the worksite space.

Important Dates:

Monday, October 31, 2016

  • Last valid day for individual LTCi applications to be fully data-entered and submitted online.
  • Individual LTCi applications submitted by this date will be processed according to LifeSecure's underwriting guidelines. Applications will be closed as incomplete if requirements are not received within the allotted time frame, per current procedures, and will not be re-opened.
  • Individual LTCi applications closed as incomplete will not be re-opened if missing outstanding requirements are not received by this date.

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

  • Individual LTCi sales will be discontinued and no further applications will be accepted.
  • Any individual LTCi application in a postponed policy status as of this date, will not have the opportunity to be written.

Important Notes:

  • This decision to discontinue Individual LTCi sales will not impact current policyholders.
  • Effective November 1, 2016, LifeSecure will no longer accept individual LTCi applications for policy series LS-LTC-0004 with gender-based pricing, including applications for members of existing association groups. They will continue to accept Multi-life LTCi applications for policy series LS-LTC-0005 and policy series LS-0002 in California with unisex pricing for new and previously approved employer groups
